This is not about politics — it concerns all of us, whatever our other views. We are worried, and we act. We are a well-connected team: an academic, a campaign strategist, a lobbyist and a developer of AI systems.
Head of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Pardubice. Works on AI risk academically, writes the blog budoucnostsai.substack.cz and lectures at universities, secondary schools, conferences and for the public. Principal investigator of a Technology Agency of the Czech Republic project on epistemic biases in AI. An experienced manager in both the non-profit and academic worlds — besides his academic roles he chairs the board of the non-profit Cesta domů.
In recent years she filled Prague’s Old Town Square with the Together for Ukraine demonstration, created viral campaigns with millions of views for Milion chvilek and Memory of Nations, and brought her film to more than 80 screenings across the country. She communicates research topics for the Czech Academy of Sciences, has built a network of active citizens and international contacts, and has repeatedly turned complex societal and technical topics into content that reaches hundreds of thousands to millions of people.
Lobbyist and advocacy manager with more than a decade of experience, primarily in education and human rights. She helped design and deliver advocacy strategies supporting quality education for all, and drove change in fulfilling the rights of people with hearing impairments. Advocacy she worked on is reflected in the Czech Education Act, the Media Act, national equal-opportunity plans and other key documents.
Data scientist and software developer specialising in agentic AI systems — hands-on development of concrete technical solutions gives him a deep understanding of the architectures and implementations of today’s AI. PhD in philosophy and cognitive science, studies in economics, a Fulbright scholarship and a research stay at UC Berkeley. Initiator and long-time lecturer of courses on critical thinking; works on AI safety and the impact of AI on the labour market.
Central and Eastern Europe is barely visible in AI safety. No one here briefs politicians professionally, no one in the whole EU has run a mass public campaign on AI risks, and no one uses the European citizens’ initiative as an instrument for AI safety. We do.
We are not just enthusiastic volunteers — we are building an organisation with a qualified team that will focus on the topic every day. We are a credible partner for academia and political representatives, and at the same time we know how to translate complicated questions into language ordinary people understand.
Above all, we know what we want: thanks to the work already done and dozens of hours of external consultations we have a concrete plan for how to get there — and we are ready to adapt our strategies to a dramatically changing situation.
We consult with dozens of experts from academia, advocacy organisations and international initiatives.
