The main geopolitical actors — above all the USA and China — must be the ones to reach an international agreement. Even so, an initiative from the Czech Republic can help bring that agreement about. How?
We believe that reaching an agreement requires both the will of the political elites and strong interest from the public. Our initiative will inform key European stakeholders about the existential risks of AI while introducing the topic to the Czech and European public. Together with our partners from other European countries, we will:
Launch a European Citizens' Initiative (ECI), for which we will gather 1 million signatures.
Inform Czech and European political leaders about the risks of artificial superintelligence.
Our activities will move individual European states and the EU toward becoming partners in reaching an international agreement. That agreement will be closer to hand if Europe is ready for it.
We are building and supporting a network of European organisations that inform the public and politicians about the existential risks of AI.
